For instructors and mentors
Teach the foundations. Let understanding develop.
Use the connected lessons for independent study or instructor-led teaching. Keep the explanation coherent and give learners time with the complete section before assessing it.

Open teaching guide →Build a connected explanation
Introduce vocabulary, explain the components or principles, then show how they interact. Use the worked examples to expose intermediate steps. Do not turn each explanation into another required question.
Allow questions from learners throughout. Optional discussion can support teaching without becoming a graded task or an additional completion requirement.
Assess at meaningful milestones
Complete all lessons in a section before offering its assessment. Feedback should send learners back to the relevant explanation. The final level assessment covers all three sections.
The published assessments are open-book and untimed. Scores describe course knowledge; they do not replace workplace observation or employer authorization.
Support different starting points
Explain unfamiliar terms without assuming previous military or technical experience. Offer written explanations alongside spoken teaching and give learners time to revisit difficult concepts.
Recommend earlier lessons where prerequisites are unfamiliar. Keep access open so learners can review without penalty.
Review before teaching
Read the objectives and teaching in advance. Verify model-dependent or safety-related guidance against current primary documentation and applicable procedures.
Record curriculum concerns separately from learner feedback. This edition is a foundation for review, not an accredited qualification.
