This is shared Antminer S19 Series reference material covering 5 models. Components, supply voltage/phase, PSU, cooling and service procedures vary by model and revision. Use the exact model nameplate and OEM manual; shared examples do not establish compatibility.
The interfaces a technician lives in: the miner's own web UI, the discovery tools that find units on the network, the monitoring API fleet software polls, and the batch tools that manage thousands at once.
Every Antminer runs an on-device web server. Browse to the miner's IP on the same LAN and log in to see status, set pools, configure the network, upgrade firmware, and reboot. The web UI calls the mining API under the hood.
Where enabled, the miner runs an SSH server (Dropbear) on port 22 giving a BusyBox Linux root shell. Used to read/edit the live cgminer.conf, restart the mining daemon, and pull logs the web UI won't show. Reality check: Bitmain DISABLES SSH on most modern stock firmware (S15/S17/Z11 and post-2019 S9/L3) - you regain it only by flashing access-enabling firmware.
The mining daemon opens a TCP socket on port 4028 and answers status queries. This is the backbone of ALL fleet monitoring - Foreman, Awesome Miner, Hiveon, minerstat just poll 4028 on every miner and parse the reply. One-shot: connect, send one command, read one reply, socket closes. Read commands need no auth.
| Command | Returns | Example |
|---|---|---|
| summary | Whole-miner: GHS 5s / GHS av, Accepted/Rejected, Hardware Errors, Elapsed uptime. | {"command":"summary"} |
| stats | Deep per-board internals: frequency, per-chip temps, fan RPM, chain status. | {"command":"stats"} |
| pools | Each pool: URL, User (worker), Status Alive/Dead, Priority, Accepted/Rejected. | {"command":"pools"} |
| devs | Per-hashboard (device) hashrate, temperature, HW errors, frequency. | {"command":"devs"} |
| version | Miner + API version - the reliable check that a firmware upgrade applied. | {"command":"version"} |
Finds a miner's IP on the subnet. The physical IP-report button on the control board broadcasts the miner's IP + MAC to Bitmain's IPReporter.exe running on a same-subnet PC. Essential when a unit changed IP or you're locating one physical machine.
Desktop tools to manage many Antminers at once. Bitmain's APMinerTool and the popular third-party BTC Tools scan an IP range, then batch-configure pools, batch firmware-upgrade, batch reboot, convert DHCP→static, and export a miner list (IP/MAC/model) for inventory.
Once a farm outgrows desktop tools (thousands of units, multiple sites), it runs a monitoring platform that continuously polls the port-4028 API and centralizes control. They all speak the same cgminer API - the choice is about scale, site-mapping, curtailment automation, and firmware strategy.
